What Do You Owe?

Given Spring of 2005
"Owe no man anything but to love him" Romans 13:8
So, when you encounter people anywhere, just pay them what you owe them, love. Be nice to them, don't be grumpy or short with them. Be nice. You know, God may have a favor lined up for you, (especially if you've been praying for one); have it ready to send through some person. But if you're grouchy with that person or someone else, you may cancel your favor. Be nice!

God Is Watching You!

Given May 2005
Let's say, you're at a ballgame and you're getting ready to yell at the ref...
Or, you hit your finger with a hammer...
Or, your car won't start and you're already late...
Or what about, you're about to pass on that little tidbit about you-know-who...
And...if God was right there with you, you'd act differently wouldn't you? Well, guess what? God said,
"I will never leave you nor forsake you". Joshua 1:5, He IS right there with you! Think about it.

A Return On Your Gift?

Given May 10, 2005
When giving, we may not be getting the return on our gift that God wants to give us because we're not giving it with joy or cheerfully. The gift we give will benefit the one who receives it, (a person, your church, etc.), but if we're giving it out of obligation or because we have to, God won't be released to bless us in the way He desires. "..God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Cor. 9:7) and He is poised to hand out blessings in abundance to those He finds willing to give without expecting anything in return. Let's pray for the right attitude about giving.

God's Undeserved Favor

Question Answered October 2005

I was painting a room and the roller kept slipping down requiring me to tap it on the roller pan to secure it to the handle. After several slippages, in anger, I hit it on the plastic roller pan, breaking the pan. As I scrambled to keep paint from leaking on the carpet, I stepped in the paint further exasperating my situation.

I discovered I had no replacement pan, (more stress), and had to go to the local dollar store for another. Upon arriving in town and seeing traffic everywhere, I remembered the town's Famous Fall Fling was going on and cars were parked everywhere! I needed to park and get my roller pan and get back home before the paint dried.

Still fresh from my recent temper flareup, I reluctantly prayed, "Lord, I'm sorry but could you favor me with a parking place?" There wasn't much faith in that prayer but, wouldn't you know, as I rounded the corner, a truck pulled out right in front of the dollar store! I was broken. I said, "Jesus, I thank you but why did you do this for me when I've been so bad?" He spoke to my spirit, "Son, I love you all the time, no matter what you do."

I'm tearing up now as I write this. The love of God is so great, there's nothing we can do to diminish it and His favor is there for the taking. Ask God to forgive you and except what He wants to give you.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17

Go Out!

Given April 8, 2001

During intercession time, I saw a beautiful field with green grass and flowers. A Christian in flowing clothes was frolicking in it, enjoying the beauty, fragrance, and warmth.

However, rising up at the edges of the beautiful field were dark, brown, hard, lifeless cliffs. Many people were bound or stuck in the cliffs and they were hurting. They were crying out for help.

We need to leave the fragrant fields and go to the hard places and minister to the hurting people who are there. We need to leave our beautiful churches and go to the ugly places where needy people are and give them the love of God.
“And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:23

Are You Ready?

Given November 26, 2000

Many times, preachers and evangelists will ask, “Are you ready?” They are usually asking, “Are you ready for Heaven”. This is important but it’s not enough. Everybody should be saved and ready when Jesus returns for His church but we need to be ready to serve God every day! And not just be ready to serve, but be prepared to serve, as well.

A student prepares for a test in school by using several methods to get ready for it. An athlete training for an athletic contest goes through weeks and months of preparation in order to be successful. We make preparations for our families by writing a will and buying insurance. Being ready for Heaven and being ready to serve God and His people here on earth is much more important.
“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” 1 Peter 3:15

Adoption Papers

Given July 15, 2001
God says to sinners, “I have set before you the adoption papers. You need to sign them and become adopted into the King’s household.”
God says to believers, “You have signed the adoption papers and have been adopted into the King’s family with all the benefits and inheritance that comes with it. But you are still living in the slave’s quarters!”
…He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will…” Ephesians 1:5, NIV

It's All About Me?

Given October 13, 2005
People think, "God's plan for my life is all about me, isn't it?" The answer is no, it's about others. Sure, God wants to do good things for you but the reason He saved you was to have you available to help other people. To be a servant. We are God's instruments in the earth. Do something good for someone today.
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." I Peter 4:10

Healing Shadow

Given March 29, 2005
In Acts 5:15, people where healed when the shadow of Peter fell on them. Why did Peter's shadow heal people and our shadows do not? It's the condition of the Holy Spirit within us. Peter's was stirred up and flashing like electricity because of his encounters with Jesus and His Word. In Isaiah 55:11 God says He has spoken His Word and it will not come back to Him void. Could that mean that if we speak His Word out of our mouths and it goes back to Him, that completes the circuit and His Word will then accomplish what it was sent to accomplish?

Connecting With People

Given October 23, 2005
We tend to shy away from people who we consider beneath us or different from us or evil people because we're afraid, intimidated or uncomfortable around them. If we have the love and power of God alive and working in us, we will see them as Jesus did and not be uncomfortable. We will feel compassionate toward them and authoritative to their ways. We must reach out to these people to share the love of God and, be assured, God will place them in our path every day!

Release!

Given October 16, 2005

During a time of intercesion, the Holy Spirit kept saying to me, "Release". I understand that to mean we need to release whatever we are struggling with to God. It will then be, "out of our hands" and we shouldn't take it back! Even when we dont' see results or when the devil lies to us about it. We will have freedom from the burden of the thing we released.

But, when we release things to God, He will probably say something like, "I'll take care of this thing you've released to Me but are you also giving me permission to change some things in you?" God is always wanting to mold us and shape us into His original plan for us so we should answer, "Do whatever you want to do God."

Walking with God

Given October 11, 2005
On the road to Heaven, we are busily and quickly "working" for God as we walk with Him. But, sometimes we miss the happiness and blessings growing on the side of the road because we don't take the time from "God's" work to slow down and enjoy what He's planted along the way. We need to walk WITH Him and not try to run ahead!

"And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:18

God speaks in many places

"How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery, whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ." Ephesians 3: 3-4 KJV

Over the last few years, God has been giving me revelations, glimpses if you will, into His Word, that have opened to me some of the hidden mysteries of the Bible. The verses I've read for years but did not understand now have new meaning and are proving useful for encouraging, edifying and helping the people around me. I believe God is preparing me for some greater work as He has purposed for all of us to do for Him and in His name.

These "revelations" have come to me mostly while driving, (thus the title), and during prayer, Bible reading and listening to tapes. I publish them for your benefit with the hope that you will gain greater insight into "the mysteries of God", as I have, and that it will make you a better Christian. May God bless you as you earnestly seek His will and purpose for your life.
